Over the last month or so there have been major fires on the West Coast; mainly in California. About a week ago Oregon saw some very unusual dry and windy conditions which led to many fires springing up around the state. The picture above is of the smoke cloud coming overhead of us. It was not long before the blue sky was gone and the sun was no longer seen. While it has been hard to endure the grey skies and the stink of burning we know that the sun is still there. We just can’t see and enjoy it. The same thing could be said of our life these days. It can be a bit hard to see what God is doing though we do know that He is here. We just have to choose to live with the knowledge of His presence; walk by faith not by sight.
So it has been close to a month since we last updated you and not a lot has changed. We are still waiting for our approval from the PNG gov’t to return. Several people have received this approval so we are hoping to join the ranks here soon. Please PRAY that this will happen this week.
Provided that we get our approval then we will schedule another round of Covid testing for the family. Please PRAY that we can find a way to have this paid for by insurance. The first round came out of our pocket.
The other major challenge is related to our airline tickets. Once we have our approval to enter PNG we will be contacting the airlines and attempt to explain our situation. Please PRAY that we will find favor with them so that we can begin our journey back.
In roughly 2 weeks we are slated to return so also PRAY for us as we repack all of our bags and put away the totes that we are storing here. It should go quicker this time around as several of our bags are still packed from last time. Of course, all of the buildup to departure day and the transition back to PNG will be a bit tiring.
