We have a couple of specific prayer requests that we want to share with you so this month’s update is a bit sooner and will be a bit shorter than normal. What a blessing it is to be able to have so many people like yourselves who so readily pray for us. We trust that God will move in response to the Prayers of His people.
We mentioned in our last update that we were going to attempt to go up to Canada as a family as Judith needed to depart the US on the 28th of May. Well, we don’t have a place to quarantine up there and technically I (as an American) can’t get across the border. This led us to inquire further as to whether the US gov’t would possibly grant Judith another extension to her visa. Several non-governmental websites said no but when I called the US department that deals with this they said that we can submit a request to extend. So, in the middle of this past week, we filled out the application online and submitted it. This is where you come in. Please pray that the gov’t will show favor to us during this time of unknown with covid 19. We asked for enough time to be able to wait through August and into September for the door to return to PNG to open up again. We trust that this will happen and are praying that we will have the ability to wait for God’s provision together as a family. We still have the use of the farm house where we’re at for the next few months.
We would also like you to pray for one of the believers in Malaumanda. Mombe Metai is a wonderful believing wife and mother there in the Malaumanda community. She is very active with the ladies group and is active with helping in the church. We have heard that she is very sick and at the moment there isn’t a way for her to get out to the hospital to get help. Can you please pray that the Lord would heal her and/or that the community would find a way for her to get out to town. This is just another example where we as missionaries don’t have the ability to jump in and solve this sort of problem. But the Lord is able and we will pray towards this end.
Thanks so much for standing with us in prayer. We’ll let you know how things turn out with Judith’s paperwork once we hear something.
In Him,
Eric and Judith
