In a few short days, we will come to the end of 2022. How has this year been for you? For us, it has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. The ups and downs of life made for a bit of a long year. The Lord was faithful each step of the journey but we are a bit tired. We are hoping that this last week of December will give us the chance to take a deep breath before charging into 2023

At the end of this year, we do want to again express our sincerest thanks to so many of you who have faithfully and sacrificially supported us this past year. The practical necessity of finances to live and serve here has been great. We have also been encouraged by knowing that there are people praying for us.

So what will 2023 look like? That is a good question. Until the Lord returns we’ll trust the Lord for his grace to engage in the opportunities that He gives. As of right now, we know that we have another orientation class that starts in mid-January. In mid-February, I will be heading into Malaumanda for a week of teaching and discipleship. There continue to be consulting trips and projects that stay on my plate. Judith is also regularly helping at the school in different areas. Daniel and Timothy start school again on January 10th and Stephen starts back up at Moody Aviation on January 3rd.

We do want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas. We trust that you were able to enjoy your time this season with family and friends.

In Him,

Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel and Timothy

On Christmas day we had a couple of teachers join us for a relaxing afternoon of making gingerbread houses, watching the old version of Miracle on 34th St, and dinner. Jennifer and Megan are Daniel and Timothy’s math teachers but none of that was discussed.
Setting up the tree.
It was Timothy’s turn to put up the star.
Timothy made quite the gingerbread fortress.

Prayer and Praise

  • Praise the Lord for ministry opportunities here in PNG and the strength to engage with them.
  • Pray for Eric and Matt Long (the other orientation guy) as they get ready for the next orientation class.
  • Pray for the boys as they start school in January. Pray for good attitudes towards school and the work that comes with it.
  • Pray for Stephen as he starts his second semester at Moody Aviation. He is doing well though there are still plenty of areas to learn and grow in. Also, we are already starting to pray about how the Lord will provide for his second year which starts this summer. A long way off, kind of.
  • Praise that we are in relatively good health.
  • Pray for me as I try to arrange a trip into Malaumanda in February.
  • Pray for the arrangements for the printing of the Malaumanda New Testament to be completed. This is taking way longer than I thought it would.
  • Pray for the leadership team in Malaumanda. There is a need for more leaders within the church and yet these need to be leaders of the Lord’s choosing.
  • Pray for 2023 to be a year that will see the Gospel of Christ grow and expand in its influence in our hearts, here in PNG, and around the world.
