This month has flown by mostly due to a flurry of activity for us a family. The Lord has given us many opportunities to engage with people here in Oregon for which we are thankful. Some of the sense of busyness in our lives comes from the growing realization that we are moving ever closer to our return to PNG. Judith heads up to Canada in late May and we will head back to PNG late June. We still have people to see and places to go but a limited number of weekends to make it happen. Isn’t it great that we have a God who can keep all of this straight!

Now in addition to a bit of personal news we want to pass on a significant need on the field of Papua New Guinea that will have the potential to impact our boys next school year. The following describes some of the urgent needs that we are facing.

Would you pray with us, for teachers for the school, nurses for the medical clinic, computer specialists, people with practical skills like carpentry, etc. We are in need of personnel in many areas on our support base and throughout the field of PNG.  Next year our school is specifically in need of primary teachers, and science and English teachers for the high school. Visit www.ncapng.org for more details. You can also see a good video at https://ethnos360.org/go/teach-abroad

The challenge that a lack of support missionaries leads to is that our ability to support bush missionaries can become compromised. Just so that you understand, there are a lot of ministry needs on the field that wouldn’t be considered normal ‘missionary’ activities but without them, the overall church planting team really struggles to function. A need for teachers is particularly challenging because any teachers for next year need to be in the pipeline for visas and the like within the next month or two. Please pray with us that the Lord will raise up some qualified people who will be willing to serve in these ways.

Thanks so much for standing with us and with the field of PNG as we seek to see the Gospel go forth in this needy country.

In Him,

Eric and Judith Hedeen, Stephen, Daniel and TImothy

Prayer and Praise

  • Pray for Stephen this weekend as he is one of the main actors in Amity High Schools drama production. He is playing the part of the hero in a melodrama. It should be fun. I’m sure that we’ll have some pictures for you next month.
  • Praise that we have purchased our tickets back to PNG. We leave near the end of June and will arrive back home the morning of June 30th. Our routing takes us through Asia so we are praying that the Corona virus outbreak will improve before then.
  • Praise that both Judith and I had the opportunity to share at the Faith Christian School missions week. It is great to see the potential in this next generation of believers. I was also able to preach and Faith Evangelical Free church last Sunday as well.
  • Pray for us as we are in the midst of scheduling to speak in adult Bible fellowships and other churches over the final months of our home assignment.
  • Daniel is going with his class on a trip to Washington DC during spring break. Pray that he will lean a lot and have a great time.
  • Continue to Pray for our monthly support. The Lord has brought in some one time gifts which will help a LOT with the expenses of getting set back up in PNG but our monthly support is still needing a boost.
