As we serve the Lord in this crazy world we all know that we need to constantly remind ourselves to seek the peace and rest that only God can give. We can cast our cares on Him for He cares for us. We can come to Him when we labor and are heavy laden and He will give us rest. He meets us in the midst of whatever circumstances we find ourselves. That being said, there are times when a good night’s sleep, or 10, is just what we need. On March 14th we flew from Goroka to Wewak and have been enjoying some much needed extra sleep and some down time.

Upon arriving in Wewak we were greeted by our co-workers, Bob and Noby Kennell. We haven’t seen them in quite some time so this was a blessing. There are quite a few families on the centre right now so it has been fun to get caught up with people.

Shortly we will be heading back to Goroka to jump back into a busy time at Lapilo. There will be a Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) which will start the day we get back and run through the weekend. This is a program for the High Schoolers whichTimothy will be a part of and Judith and Daniel will be helping out in various ways. Eric will be jumping right back into the office to get caught up on a multitude of issues on the centre and then there are field level meetings that run all next week.

It won’t be long after that before Daniel and I head back to the US to help him get ready for Bible school. The Lord has provided housing for us during our time in Oregon though we are still looking for a vehicle to use from May 29th until roughly July 7th; when I return to PNG. Please let us know if you know of anything that might work. With it just being Daniel and I we don’t need anything big.

Thanks so much for praying for us as we serve here in PNG.

In Him,

Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel and Timothy

Judith’s Immigration News

We are still playing a waiting game concerning the processing of our I-130 application. As of today it shows that we have 10 months remaining to see this application processed. We will then be able to apply for her legal permanent residency. Continue to pray for us in this.

We spent some time as a family at the Boutique hotel in town for lunch and a swim. This was one of the highlights of our time here.
We flew down to Wewak in a NTM plane.
Stephen has been spending the first part of his flight training learning the basics in a large simulator. He is enjoying himself.

Prayer & Praise

  • Praise that we have had a good break as a family.
  • Pray for us as we settle back in to life and ministry at Lapilo.
  • Pray specifically for field leadership meetings next week as there are some significant topics to discuss.
  • Pray for Timothy as he finishes up his schooling for this year. We are still trying to figure out when we will start him back up for his next school year as we don’t want him to have too much time between school years. Praise the Lord that he is doing well.
  • Pray for Judith as she helps out with food prep for the SEW conference. Pray also for her as she will be saying goodbye to Daniel here soon.
  • Praise that Stephen was able to pass his final FAA tests for his aviation mechanics license. Pray for him as he is now in the Flight portion of his program.
  • Pray that we can find a vehicle to use this summer.
  • Pray for Daniel as he will be needing a place to stay and some work during the summer before he heads off to Bible school in the middle of August.
  • Pray for the Malaumanda church as they continue to grow through His Word. Pray also for the outreach to Minini.
  • Pray for Judith’s paperwork so that we can get back to the US for home assignment.
  • Pray for the Lord to raise up His people to serve here in PNG to accomplish the Gospel going to the least reached here.
