Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.

Psalm 25:4 NLT

All of you have been following our lives over the last couple of months and been in prayer for us to know what the Lord has for us next. Thank you for those prayers. We mentioned previously that we will be heading back to PNG. That was a welcome piece of direction but we still had/have a few hurdles to negotiate.

The main challenge that we have been working through of late is that of getting Daniel’s visa and entry permit. The visa came through in record time but the entry permit has proven to be more of a challenge. I thought that getting a basic physical for Daniel would be straight forward. That has not been the case. We finally have everything sorted out now though not before a LOT of phone calls and a LOT of help from Linda Scianna. Daniel is staying with John and Linda and working with John, and she has driven him around to various appointments while helping him negotiate his way through the US health care system. No small task these days.

Any day now Daniel will be sending his passport to the PNG embassy in Washington DC to get his visa. Once he gets that back then we will find a day to fly him back up to BC. A few days after that we will fly Stephen up to spend a couple of days with the family.

Once we drop Stephen off at the airport then Daniel and I will drive down to Oregon to drop off the minivan that we have been borrowing. From there we will fly from Portland back to PNG. On that same day Judith and Timothy will fly from BC back to PNG by the same route. This is NOT ideal but only the first leg of the journey will we be apart. At least that is the plan. We have about 3 weeks to go before we leave so pray that the rest of our preparations go smoothly.

In Him,

Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel and Timothy

Timothy and I drove down to Oregon to attend my nephew Ethan’s wedding. This is a pic of me with my parents and Sisters Leslie and Laura.
Judith’s brother, Randy and wife Michelle came down for a visit last weekend. Judith’s mom got accidentally cut out of the picture. Sorry Oma!
Timothy is busy each day working on his online school. This is every student’s dream to be able to lounge on the couch for school!

Prayer and Praise

  • Praise that we are currently mostly healthy and settled as a family though in 3 different places.
  • Pray for Eric’s shoulder as he is dealing with some rotator cuff issues.
  • Pray for Daniel he is waiting for his visa and entry permit to be returned to him. Praise that he is getting to work on a barn down in California.
  • Praise that Timothy has started online school and that it is going well.
  • Pray for Stephen. He is functioning in a very stressful set of dynamics with his school load, an expensive medical evaluation related to his future flight status coming up and some practical challenges. We will have one more opportunity to spend time with him right before we leave for PNG.
  • Pray for Judith and I as we seek to encourage and guide Stephen from a distance. This is hard for him and us.
  • Pray for all of the expenses related to our trip back. Thank you for everyone who have so faithfully supported us.
  • Pray for us as we transition back to life and ministry in PNG.
  • Pray specifically for the various ministry challenges that we will be stepping back into. I would also like to connect with Malaumanda as well during our time back in PNG.
