Greetings from Oregon. Yes, we are still in Oregon in case you were wondering. Our location has certainly been a question on our minds but so far the Lord still has us at the Farm house. The uncertainty of life is something that all of us can relate to these days. We praise the Lord that we don’t have to be uncertain as to His goodness and faithfulness to us.

So let me give you a brief update on where things stand at the moment. We asked you to pray for Judith’s US visa extension. Thanks for that but please keep praying as we still have not heard anything. She can continue to stay in the US while we wait though it does leave us a bit anxious at times. Also, the US/Canada border is not necessarily open at the moment either which further complicates things.

We mentioned in our last update that the PNG gov’t would be coming to the end of their state of emergency on June 16th. It was our hope that after that date we would have more clarity as to when we might be able to return, but this has not happened. We are preparing to return while at the same time waiting for that path forward. And by the way, the picture above was taken at a very low tide within the ‘Devil’s Punchbowl’ on the Oregon coast. It was interesting to me to realize that much as we safely enjoyed our walk through this normally violent location we can have God’s peace while traversing our life on this crazy planet.

So what are we doing now?! About the time that we wrote our last update we came to the conclusion that we just need to plan our days and live our life. We know that almost anything can change at any given moment but we don’t want to live our lives paralyzed with fear or doubt. Now that sounds more noble and courageous that it really is. We have managed to get a few days away to celebrate our anniversary, enjoyed a wonderful Father’s day with Eric’s family, and are in the midst of planning a trip to see Judith’s sister and her family and hopefully a few additional people as well.

Thanks so much for standing with us in prayer during this time. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date on how things proceed.

In Him,

Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel and Timothy

Prayer and Praise

  • Praise  that we are still healthy and doing well as a family.
  • Pray for Judith’s US visa extension to come through so that we can have the flexibility to wait for PNG to open up without any additional drama.
  • Pray that PNG will get to the place where there is a way for missionaries to return. This is a bigger issue than just our desire to return. We need to praythat the Lord will provide a way for church planters and support missionaries to return to help shoulder the load of bringing the Gospel to the people of this country.
  • Also Pray that there would not be a serious issue with covid 19 in PNG. So far there have only been 9 total with no deaths.
  • Praise that Stephen was able to get his driver’s license. This was a specific goal for him during this home assignment as we look to prepare him for his life after high school.
  • Thanks for Praying for Mombe. We just heard that there may be some answers to her medical issues.
  • Praise that our co-worker, John Hutteman, was able to make a visit to Malaumanda for a number of days. He had a good visit though there are a number of issues that came up that will need to be addressed.
