Packing and planning but with no clear idea as to when we’ll leave.
It is hard to imagine that it is the end of the month. In many respects it has been a blur. In some ways though it has gone agonizingly slow. The Lord knows and we continue to have opportunities to grow in our patience and perseverance.
Earlier this month we received a note from the US embassy stating that Judith’s interview was being pushed back. We will now drop off her passport and other papers on June 1st and then have the interview on the 3rd. We are still not sure how long it will take after the 3rd for us to be cleared to head to the US.
At this point we are not worried about that as we still need to get an appointment for Judith to have a physical. This is a part of the application process and needs to be done before June 1st. There is one doctor in PNG who can do this and they are in the capitol, Port Moresby. We have not been able to make any headway on this; though not for lack of calling and emailing. We still have quite a few responsibilities and another bush trip before the end of May so be praying that we can get something on the books soon.
The rest of this month has been taken up with packing the house and putting things into storage and helping people with learning Tok Pisin. My time of evaluating Tok Pisin is pretty much done though our packing of the house still has a long ways to go.
We do have one exciting bit of news from Malaumanda. The Bible teachers have been going through the Creation to Christ teaching with the students that are in the local school and after the Gospel presentation 61 elementary students gave a profession of faith in Jesus. Some of these kids are from our village but many are from other villages where the Gospel has not been welcome. Praise the Lord!
Thank you all for praying.
Eric and Judith, and Timothy too
Prayer and Praise
- Praise for good health.
- Pray for strength and endurance as we pack, plan and persevere til the end of this extended term on the field.
- Pray for all the logistics that still need to come together for Judith’s green card as well as our home assignment (plane ticket, summer travel plans, etc).
- Pray for Daniel as he finished up his first year of Bible school the middle of May and travels back to Oregon. He is looking for a construction related job if possible and we are hoping to work with him to purchase a car.
- Praise that Timothy is just about done with his online school.
- Pray for my consultant bush trip next week.
- Pray for us as we say good byes next month. We are looking forward to our home assignment but this aspect of life over here is never easy.
