June is just about over and it is mind boggling to think about all that has happened this month. This is a brief synopsis of where the Lord has taken us.
– Monday June 1st we dropped off our documents at the US Embassy in PNG.
– Wednesday June 3rd Judith had her interview at the Embassy and we then picked up her passport with visa on Friday June 5th.
– June 7th we left PNG for the United States. After about 20 hours of travel we landed at LAX airport and Judith completed the immigration process without further drama. Praise the Lord!
– June 8th we landed in Portland, Oregon and were greeted by Daniel and my sister and brother in law at the airport. We went straight to the EBC church house in Dallas, Oregon where we are now living.
– June 22nd Stephen arrived
– June 23rd Judith and I had our 25th anniversary and that same day Judith received her physical green card. After waiting 2 years for this to happen it is nice to be done.
Whew! Needless to say this was a huge shift that we are still adjusting to. 20 hours of flying got our bodies to the US while our minds and hearts are in some respects still trying to catch up. Last month we were packing up our lives at Lapilo. This month we are sorting through totes full of stuff that we packed up in 2020; when Timothy was 10 years old. Once again, mind boggling.
Since landing here we have been finding warm clothes, getting our Costco card set back up, changed the shocks and control arms on Stephen’s Subaru, went car shopping with Daniel, attended both of our supporting churches here in Dallas, Oregon and a host of other things. Establishing any sort of routine has not happened yet but that is just normal for this sort of life shift.
As we were driving back from Portland yesterday with Daniel’s car I found myself thinking back on the Lord’s faithfulness. There were times when we lost our perspective and our faith was shaky but that was never because of God’s unfaithfulness. He is always faithful to His promises for us even when we don’t see them.
Thanks so much for your prayer and support for us.
Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel and Timothy

Praise & Prayers
- Praise that Judith has her green card, we are back in the States, together as a family, and healthy.
- Praise for the uber supportive church community here in Dallas. We have been blessed with housing, half of Daniel’s car expense, blueberries, and wonderful fellowship.
- Pray for our schedule for this summer. With Stephen currently visiting and Daniel working in the area we are not starting our travels until a bit later. We ask for wisdom as we balance family time and our travels.
- Pray for our car situation. I know, I know, we always seem to have car situations. Stephen’s Subaru is just about sorted and Daniel has a good vehicle but our Jetta has a few issues to be sorted before she is ready for long trips.
- Continue to pray for pastor Jim and the other Malaumandan believers as they minister to the Minini church.
- Pray for Stephen as he begins the flight program again on July 6th. Once that starts up then we will be staying very busy.
- Pray for Judith as she has a root canal on the 9th of July.
