At the start of this month, we were finally back home in PNG. We unpacked our clothes, cleaned the house, and prepared for school and for our normal ministry tasks. While all of this should be fairly normal for us, not having Stephen here has taken some adjustments. We do know that the Lord has all of us where He wants us. We regularly see how the Lord is providing for him just as He is for us.

For Judith, her ministry right now has changed a bit and has many components that are connected to the school. She is still helping out with the school’s management team but is also helping in the Elementary library and with some other various needs around the school. Thankfully she can still work with me as we orientate new support missionaries that are coming to the field.

We have another group of new support missionaries that we will be taking through orientation starting in September. We are always encouraged to see how the Lord grows the ministry team here. That being said, we still have some significant needs. Some additional teachers would be a huge help. We are also in need of a medical doctor. We have one doctor currently though which means that there are times when he is gone or the workload is beyond what one doctor can manage. The Lord knows and we can trust Him to send not only church planters but also support missionaries to join the team here.

We do want to thank all of you who so faithfully pray and support us. The Body of Christ never ceases to amaze us.

In Him,
Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel, and Timothy

Timothy moved into Stephen’s room but first, we had to strip the walls and repaint. Timothy got one of his friends to help.
This is a pic of Stephen with his housemates at Moody.

I did turn 55 this month. We had our good friends Dana and Joanie over for a quiet evening. The guys won!!
Judith enjoys working in the elementary library as she gets to interact with the students.

Prayer & Praise

  • Praise that we are back home and more or less settled.
  • Praise also for Stephen to be settled at Moody. Some of you have already been a blessing to him in many ways. As parents, we are very grateful.
  • Pray for Eric as he is getting ready to start a new Orientation class. He is also working with a new co-worker, Matt Long. It is going well though there is still a bit of work to get everything synced out.
  • Praise that the boys are back in school. Daniel has a good-sized load in grade 11 and Timothy is adjusting to a heavier load in grade 7. So far so good.
  • Praise that we are still able to be here in PNG with a wide open door to bringing the Gospel to the many people groups who have not heard.
  • Pray for me as I try to find a time when I can get into Malaumanda. A busier schedule here at Lapilo makes that a bit more difficult.
  • Pray for the printing of the Malaumanda New Testament. We are finally in the cue to get our manuscript to a printer. We have more waiting to do but there has been some movement.
  • Pray for Judith as she seeks to find a good balance between helping at the school and with orientation.
  • Pray for us to be faithful to be about encouraging the Gospel of Christ to grow and expand in its influence here in PNG.
