A Day at a Time
Judith and I are both very grateful for the opportunity that God has given us to live and serve here in PNG. That doesn’t mean that we aren’t tired by the end of the day. The Lord has given us many different areas to minister in and that has us busy most days of the week. And then the boys keep us busy some as well.
We just started a new orientation class for two families and a single gal who are new to Lapilo. The picture above is of last Friday’s pizza night with all of them as well as the one other family who works with us in orientation. It is enjoyable to be able to come alongside these folk and help them adjust to life in PNG. We spend a good amount of time in the classroom but as you can tell from the photos we also get out into the community.
This month Judith celebrated her birthday. We had brought over a few gifts with us when we came back from the States which was nice. As is a bit of a tradition, we had a meal with our good friends Dana and Joanie Bowers and another family from the Sepik, Tim and Courtney Shontere. The two ladies made a great Thai meal just the way Judith likes it. With friends and family around we succeeded in making her day special.
This month I have also been spending a bit of time preparing for two consultant trips that I have coming up. The first trip will be this Friday til Monday. I’ll be back Monday night and Tuesday before leaving again on Wednesday. It is fun to get out into the bush though unfortunately, Judith won’t be coming along on either of these trips. I’m sure that there will be some stories to tell for next month’s update.
Once again, we want to say a big thank you to everyone who prays and gives to our ministry here. It is hugely appreciated.
In Him,
Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel, and Timothy
Stephen has a Prayer Update!!
As most of you know Stephen is at Moody Aviation in Spokane Washington in training to be a missionary pilot. He is off to a great start and we are super proud of him. At 18 years of age, he has just written his first prayer update. You can read it by clicking the link below. I know that he would love for you to pray for him, and an encouraging note or text would be great too.
Prayer and Praise
- Praise for safety during the 7.6 earthquake that we had earlier this month.
- Pray for wisdom for Judith and I as we parent Daniel and Timothy. We desire that they continue to grow into godly young men.
- Pray also for Stephen. He is doing well in the midst of a lot of transitions and learning experiences. You can read more about that in his update.
- Praise that the boys are just about done with the first term of school. Both are doing well but with some room for improvement.
- Pray for Judith as she is still struggling a bit with some sort of bug. She has been off of dairy and meat for a number of weeks trying to get beyond this.
- Pray for me as I head into the bush for some consultant trips. Pray for Judith as she manages things in my absence.
- Pray for the printing work to be done on the Malaumanda New Testament.
- Pray for finances as I have a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand next in November. It will be a good opportunity to interface with most of the Ethnos360 consultants from around the world.
- Praise for God’s provision that allows us to continue to serve Him here in PNG.
