Whether we are working with the Malaumanda church, new church planting teams, or even our boys, our desire is to see them grow in their Faith and Trust in the Lord. This is a lifelong task for all of us. At the beginning of November, we celebrated Timothy’s 13th birthday. We are very proud of this young man as he is growing in all of the many ways that we desire of him. We always knew that he was going to be a big kid and he is now better than 2 inches taller than me…which he loves. He is also doing very well in school with very little extra exhortation on our part. Of course, our favorite observation of his life is his soft heart towards God and others. Please keep praying for us as we disciple Timothy and his two older brothers.

This month I spent 11 days away from home on a trip to Thailand. There were just over 80 consultants and coaches from all around the world. We all work with Ethnos360 but in some very different contexts. There is a new culture and language acquisition program being rolled out and a new mobile and computer program that goes with it. While it was good to be introduced to the new program, it was even more encouraging to touch base with many of these other missionary consultants to see what the Lord is doing in their part of the world. There were also some very good friends there that I haven’t seen in years.

On my way home I had an extra day in Singapore and the Lord worked it out for me to travel over to Malaysia to spend some time with a good friend of the family. Cooper Bowers grew up here in PNG and I have known him since he was a toddler. It was great to spend some time with him and his wife Mandy and his son. Then as I was getting ready to leave Singapore for PNG I met up with a new family that will be serving here at Lapilo. They will be in our next orientation class that starts in January. It was great to be able to help them in their transition to PNG before they even got there.

As we think back on this past month it was very easy to be thankful. Not that everything has been easy or enjoyable but we can see that the Lord is working. We pray that you can say the same thing about what the Lord is doing in your lives.

In Him,

Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel, and Timothy

Eric with our Malaumanda co-workers, Bob and Noby Kennell in Chiang Mai.
Eric with Cooper and Mandy in Malaysia. We had fish head curry which was great.
Eric with Aaron and Erika Weatherl (PNG) and Mike and Sandy Mikolavich.

Prayer and Praise

  • Praise that I was able to get to Thailand and back. It was a long trip but profitable.
  • Pray for Stephen as he is on a break from Moody but is fighting a flu bug of some sort. And no, we don’t know whether it is covid or not.
  • Praise that the boys are just about 3 weeks away from the end of the semester. Pray for Daniel as he tries to finish up his online Spanish course. He really doesn’t want to do this over the Christmas break. Praise that Timothy is doing so well in school.
  • Pray for the Lapilo centre where we live. There are several departments that are short-staffed at the moment. Life and ministry continue on but it is a challenge. We could use teachers, a doctor, accountants/bookkeepers, and IT specialists to name a few.
  • Pray for Judith as she has been fighting a couple of different sicknesses. She is still able to function but it has made life a bit harder than usual and she would love to get back to full health.
  • Pray for the printing of the Malaumanda New Testament. We are still in the waiting stage.
  • Pray for us as we get ready for the next orientation class after the first of the year.
  • Praise for God’s provision for our lives and ministry.
