Well, I turned 58 earlier this month. I know, I don’t look a day over 57 right? Don’t answer that question. 🙂 I will say that this month I have been reminded of just how blessed I am. I have a beautiful godly wife, 3 sons who love Jesus; two of which are in training to serve as missionaries. We all have good health which allows us to serve in a multitude of ways. There are a few aches and pains now and again but I’m still able to play soccer on Sundays and hike around as needed. This month I was able to fly into a tribe to do a culture and language evaluation. While not physically strenuous I was still thankful for the opportunities that God gives me to do this. Oh, and I have another similar trip this coming weekend.
Let me also say how blessed Judith and I are when we see how God and His people are coming around our two boys, Stephen and Daniel. As some of you know, Stephen was dealing with a lack of finances for this upcoming semester at Moody. After sharing this need and asking for prayer a number of different came together to help him get over this hurdle. This wasn’t our doing as we aren’t in a position to do too much more to help with his schooling. God’s people investing in this young man.
Daniel arrived at Bible school late last week. Not being there was particularly hard for Judith. She would love to be there to walk through this with him. When he said that he didn’t have any food the first night her mother’s heart ached, and yet over the next several days we heard how different friends of ours from PNG came alongside Daniel and helped him in some amazing ways. His classes start this week.
There are many other things that have happened this month, many of which have focused us on the Lord. Our need of God never lessens even when we gain knowledge and experience. It is always one day at a time. Thanks for praying with us as we journey through this life.
In Him,
Eric and Judith, Stephen, Daniel and Timothy

Prayer and Praise
- Praise for health and strength to serve here in PNG.
- Pray for Eric as he is very busy here at Lapilo centre. He also has a significant work load as a consultant. Pray also that he can get in to Malaumanda this coming month. There is a lot to do in there.
- Pray for Judith as she balances helping out in the school, helping Timothy with his schooling and her engagement/encouragement with various ladies on the centre.
- Praise that there are several church planting teams that are completing their culture and language study and can now move into the formal preparation for teaching the Gospel and translating the Bible.
- Pray for me as I try to arrange a trip into Malaumanda in September.
- Pray for the continued outreach to Minini. They should be starting to teach through Romans in September.
- Pray for Daniel as he is starting Bible school this week. Pray also that he will be able to find a part time job so that he can pay some of his bills.
- Praise/Pray for Stephen as he now has the funds for the rest of this semester. He does have check rides and the like which are a challenge for him. Also pray for his vehicle situation. It looks like there is a vehicle that he will be able to get here soon which is a praise.
- Pray for the work of church planting here in PNG. There are a lot of challenges on the support side of things these days. We are wanting to integrate PNG citizens into various activities here on Lapilo centre though this is not an easy process. We trust that the Lord will bring the right people along who will be a good fit.
